Die folgenden Ereignisse trugen sich am 01.12. in der Wrestlinggeschichte zu:
Ereignisse
1906: Fred Beell (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=10372) schockte die Massen, indem er Frank Gotch (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=1891) in New Orleans besiegte und sich den American Heavyweight Title holte. Die Situation und ihre Wirkung lässt sich kaum in die Jetztzeit transportieren, aber man bezeichnet diese Sache als größten Upset in der Geschichte des Wrestlings überhaupt. Gotch stieß der Legende nach bei dem Match mit dem Kopf an den Ringpfosten, wurde ausgeknockt und verlor dadurch gegen einen wesentlich kleineren Gegner. Diese Geschichte stimmt aber wahrscheinlich nicht, da Ringe in der damaligen Zeit fast nie Ringseile oder Ringpfosten hatten. Es gibt viele andere Storys, zum Beispiel behauptete Gotch vor seinem Tod, dass er in den Orchestergraben geworfen wurde und ausgezählt wurde. Eine Zeitung berichtete wiederum, Gotch habe sich seinen Kopf auf dem Boden angeschlagen und sei ohnmächtig gepinnt worden. Danach sei er benommen gewesen und Beell habe die Situation sofort zu einem dritten Fall genutzt. Diese Niederlage war die letzte in Gotchs Karriere und 16 Tage später holte er sich den Titel von Beell zurück. Dieser Vorfall und das Rematch 16 Tage später kann man heute als einen ersten Versuch eines Angles bezeichnen.
1926: Eigentlich sollten sie die Heavyweight Titel ihrer Ligen verteidigen und den wahren World Champion bestimmen, aber "Strangler" Ed Lewis (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=1817) tauchte zu seinem Match gegen Joe Stecher (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=3605) nicht auf und verlor dadurch 2.500 Dollar an Kaution, was in der damaligen Zeit eine Menge Geld war. Offensichtlich wollten Lewis´ Promoter nicht, dass sich Lewis in einem Shoot-Match mit Stecher misst. Ein Shoot-Match zehn Jahre zuvor hatte nach fünf Stunden zu einem Unentschieden geführt. Zwei Jahre später einigten sich die Promoter dann doch noch und es kam zu dem langersehnten Match der beiden. Es war womöglich das größte Match der damaligen Zeit und die ganze Wrestlingwelt glaubte, dass es ein Shoot war, in Wirklichkeit war das Ergebnis - Lewis gewann - aber abgesprochen.

1906: Fred Beell (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=10372) schockte die Massen, indem er Frank Gotch (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=1891) in New Orleans besiegte und sich den American Heavyweight Title holte. Die Situation und ihre Wirkung lässt sich kaum in die Jetztzeit transportieren, aber man bezeichnet diese Sache als größten Upset in der Geschichte des Wrestlings überhaupt. Gotch stieß der Legende nach bei dem Match mit dem Kopf an den Ringpfosten, wurde ausgeknockt und verlor dadurch gegen einen wesentlich kleineren Gegner. Diese Geschichte stimmt aber wahrscheinlich nicht, da Ringe in der damaligen Zeit fast nie Ringseile oder Ringpfosten hatten. Es gibt viele andere Storys, zum Beispiel behauptete Gotch vor seinem Tod, dass er in den Orchestergraben geworfen wurde und ausgezählt wurde. Eine Zeitung berichtete wiederum, Gotch habe sich seinen Kopf auf dem Boden angeschlagen und sei ohnmächtig gepinnt worden. Danach sei er benommen gewesen und Beell habe die Situation sofort zu einem dritten Fall genutzt. Diese Niederlage war die letzte in Gotchs Karriere und 16 Tage später holte er sich den Titel von Beell zurück. Dieser Vorfall und das Rematch 16 Tage später kann man heute als einen ersten Versuch eines Angles bezeichnen.
1926: Eigentlich sollten sie die Heavyweight Titel ihrer Ligen verteidigen und den wahren World Champion bestimmen, aber "Strangler" Ed Lewis (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=1817) tauchte zu seinem Match gegen Joe Stecher (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=3605) nicht auf und verlor dadurch 2.500 Dollar an Kaution, was in der damaligen Zeit eine Menge Geld war. Offensichtlich wollten Lewis´ Promoter nicht, dass sich Lewis in einem Shoot-Match mit Stecher misst. Ein Shoot-Match zehn Jahre zuvor hatte nach fünf Stunden zu einem Unentschieden geführt. Zwei Jahre später einigten sich die Promoter dann doch noch und es kam zu dem langersehnten Match der beiden. Es war womöglich das größte Match der damaligen Zeit und die ganze Wrestlingwelt glaubte, dass es ein Shoot war, in Wirklichkeit war das Ergebnis - Lewis gewann - aber abgesprochen.
