1991: Schwerer Schlag für die World Wrestling Federation (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=ligen&liga=3): Die Liga war seit Wochen in den Medien stark kritisiert worden, weil sie den Golfkrieg für den Angle Hulk Hogan (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=39) vs. Sgt. In den Tagen zuvor hatte Hogan ein paar Militärstützpunkte besucht, wo sie Soldaten kurz vor dem Aufbruch standen. Als dies in die Kritik geriet, versprach die WWF, dass nichts davon im Fernsehen ausgestrahlt werde. Am 1. Februar strahlte sie dann ihr jährliches NBC-Special aus. Dabei wurden sehr wohl Ausschnitte von den Besuchen gezeigt und es wurde den Fans suggeriert, Hogan kämpfe von zuhause aus im Krieg mit, während Sgt. Slaughter Saddam Husseins persönlicher Abgesandter in die USA sei. Die Show erzielte mit einem 6.7er-Rating das niedrigste Rating, das die WWF auf NBC je erzielt hatte. Selbst die Ratings auf dem wesentlich schlechteren Programmplatz von Saturday Night´s Main Event waren besser. Aufgrund dieses Ratings kam die NBC auf die Idee, dass die WWF out sei. Eine weitere Show lief noch über den Sender und dann wurde die WWF abgesetzt.
2004: Am zweiten Tag der Mid-Atlantic Legends Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina gab es einen Vorfall bei einer Frage und Antwort-Stunde mit Jim Cornette (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=822). Dabei bekam eines der Mitglieder der Insane Clown Posse das Mikrofon in die Hände und fragte, warum Cornette die rappenden Wrestler nicht leiden könne. Cornette sprang von seinem Stuhl auf, ließ eine Hasstirade vom Stapel und bekam dafür viel Applaus von den anwesenden Fans. Es gebe nicht so etwas wie Rapmusik, da Rap nur Lärm sei. Das wolle niemand hören, weshalb die ICP auch gezwungen sei, die kleinsten Bookings für 25 Dollar zu akzeptieren. Es ging weiter mit Beleidigungen und bevor sich die Situation noch mehr aufheizen konnte, ließ Promoter Greg Price die ICP herausführen, während die Fans "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" sangen. Die ICP regte sich besonders über den Rauswurf auf, weil sie eigentlich VIP-Pässe hatten.

Selbst die Ratings auf dem wesentlich schlechteren Programmplatz von Saturday Night´s Main Event waren besser. Aufgrund dieses Ratings kam die NBC auf die Idee, dass die WWF out sei. Eine weitere Show lief noch über den Sender und dann wurde die WWF abgesetzt.
2004: Am zweiten Tag der Mid-Atlantic Legends Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina gab es einen Vorfall bei einer Frage und Antwort-Stunde mit Jim Cornette (http://www.genickbruch.com/index.php?befehl=bios&wrestler=822). Dabei bekam eines der Mitglieder der Insane Clown Posse das Mikrofon in die Hände und fragte, warum Cornette die rappenden Wrestler nicht leiden könne. Cornette sprang von seinem Stuhl auf, ließ eine Hasstirade vom Stapel und bekam dafür viel Applaus von den anwesenden Fans. Es gebe nicht so etwas wie Rapmusik, da Rap nur Lärm sei. Das wolle niemand hören, weshalb die ICP auch gezwungen sei, die kleinsten Bookings für 25 Dollar zu akzeptieren. Es ging weiter mit Beleidigungen und bevor sich die Situation noch mehr aufheizen konnte, ließ Promoter Greg Price die ICP herausführen, während die Fans "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" sangen. Die ICP regte sich besonders über den Rauswurf auf, weil sie eigentlich VIP-Pässe hatten.
