Jetzt gibt es gar keine Titelverteidigung mehr. :D

Inoue hatte seit seinem Mexiko-Aufenthalt (und der natürlich damit einhergehenden Gewichtssteigerung aufgrund des dortigen Trainings) Probleme, das Gewichtslimit für seine Division zu halten. Mit seiner Teilnahme im G1 sieht er nun den richtigen Zeitpunkt gekommen, endgültig ins Lager der Heavyweights zu wechseln. Deshalb wird der IWGP Jr. Title für vakant erklärt und demnächst in einem Turnier neu ausgekämpft. Damit kommt es nach langer Zeit mal wieder zu einem Jr. Tournament bei New Japan.
