Legends of Wrestling war die Antwort von Acclaim auf das Ende der Zusammenarbeit mit World Wrestling Entertainment, die im Jahr 2000 zum Konkurrenten THQ wechselten und Acclaim damit ohne Partner zurück ließen. Mit dem Ende von World Championship Wrestling und Extreme Championship Wrestling (ebenfalls Partner von Acclaim) blieben keine anderen großen Ligen als Partner, also entschied man sich eigenständig ein Produkt mit den Legenden aller möglichen Ligen zu veröffentlichen. |
