Exklusivinterview mit Glenn Gilbertti
Disco Inferno, on the last SWF Event you won the SWF Heavyweight Title. What did that mean to you?
Well, it meant, that I was probably the best wrestler they have in Switzerland. It really didn’t take me that long to prove it.

Does a belt like this, or any other European belt mean anything in the States?
Well, it would be something special, if I won the Italian Belt and brought it back to Little Italy. Or the Chinese Belt and brought it back to Chinatown. There is not really a large community of swiss people in America. The Swiss Wrestling Federation does not mean any big thing in the States. Unless I start talking about swiss Cheese. But then, would the GCW Heavyweight Title mean anything here in Switzerland? I don’t think so.

It’s gonna be your first defending of the Title tonight. And since you got to know some of the guys here, do you prepare in a special way for tonights event?
I don’t have to prepare differently. Everybody else has. They never wrestled a guy of my calibre. A guy who performed in front of 40’000 Fans. So I don’t have to change. They do.

How do you prepare at all? Any special things, beside stretching and warming up?
It’s about 20-30 minutes of stretching and then I’m ready to go. I eat something 3 or 4 hours before the show. But that’s about it.

What do you think of the SWF at all. Do you think there’s potential or is it a more of a thing that runs towards nowhere.
Well, I see their passion. It’s the passion of the group, that makes the product succeed. And if the audience sees, how passionate these guys are and how willing to do a good show, the more people come to see it.

On the last show, there where very few spectators. How can an organisation change that?
Advertising. It’s the only way to do it, you know. And they did not really put advertisements in newspapers or magazines for this show. It’s all focussed on the October-show. But I’m willing to help them. If the want me to do radio shows or something like that, I’m here. But basically I just show up and wrestle.

You met all the wrestlers. Any guy we should keep an eye on?
The guys do have potential. There’s no doubt about that. But they need to be in better shape. But I can’t really tell. The Cruiserweights were pretty good. But everybody was speaking swiss-german in the ring, so I can’t tell you about the promoskills, because I didn’t understand a word they’re saying.

Are you looking forward to the October-event? Any chance to meed old friends like Diamond Dallas Page or others?
Oh yes. I’m definitely looking forward to it. I’ve seen DDP recently and I see Jeff Jarrett every week. So it’s not really something like a reunion. But I’m really looking forward to it.

Do you guys travel together? Since you’re all from the states.
No, not really. We’re all coming from different places. So we just meet here then.

Do you know who you’re gonna wrestle tonight?
I think its gonna be Darksoul.

What do you think of him?
Well, he looks good, he’s got potential and I’m looking forward to kick his ass tonight.

Well, thank you, Disco Inferno for your time. I wish you good luck for tonight’s event and hope to see you again soon.
Thanks man. Always a pleasure talking to you. But remember. It’s not luck.
