 - bevor er zum Wrestling kam, war er am College Footballspieler
- teamte anfangs mit Dick Murdoch als The Outlaws
- gewann unzählige Titel in der NWA, war zum Schluß auch für Booking und Produktion zuständig
- war von 1989 bis zur Schließung 1991 Mitbesitzer von Professional Wrestling Federation
- wechselte dann in die WWF und bekam dort ein Klempner Gimmick
- sein Vater war wirklich Klempner
- fehdete gegen Ted DiBiase und Randy Savage
- kehrte dann in die WCW zurück und arbeitete nur noch hinter den Kulissen und als Kommentator
- schloß sich bei Souled Out 1998 der nWo an und turnte gegen Larry Zbyszko
- agierte in der nWo als Manager der Outsiders
- teamte zusammen mit Sohn Dustin bei WCW Greed im Match gegen Jeff Jarrett und Ric Flair
- hatte bei ECW Living Dangerously 2000einen Kurzauftritt in der ECW
- leitet seine eigene Promotion TurnBuckle Championship Wrestling und seine eigene Wrestlingschule und tritt gelegentlich independent an

- am 21.11.2004 wurde Rhodes zum Headbooker von TNA Wrestling, in den Folgemonaten meuterten einige Angestellte aber gegen Rhodes
- am 10. Mai 2005 wurde Rhodes aber wieder als Booker abgelöst
- anschließend nahm er wieder Indy-Bookings an
- am 1. September 2005 unterschrieb er einen WWE Legends Vertrag, der ihm die Mitarbeit im Creative Team von SmackDown! ermöglichte
- verkaufte seinen NWA World Heavyweight Title bei Ebay
- bei der Survivor Series 2006 trat er im Legendenteam von Ric Flair gegen die Spirit Squad an
- wird 2007 in die WWE Hall of Fame aufgenommen
- begann 2007 gemeinsam mit Cody Rhodes eine Fehde gegen Randy Orton
- kehrte Ende August 2009 für eine Ausgabe von RAW als Gast-Manager zurück
- verstarb am 11. Juni 2015, im Alter von 69 Jahren, in einem Krankenhaus in Orlando (Florida), nachdem er zu Hause gestürzt war |
