| 1991 wurde Dr. George Zahorian
in 12 von 14 Fällen für schuldig befunden, vier Wrestlern und
einem College Coach anabolische Steroide gegeben zu haben. Dafür wanderte
er für drei Jahre ins Gefängnis. Zahorian war bis zu der Zeit
der oberste Ringarzt der WWF. In dem Prozeß hatte Zahorian ausgesagt,
daß er die Steroide Vince McMahon und anderen WWF Wrestlern gegeben
habe. Im November 1993 stand dann McMahon wegen des Besitzes von Steroiden
und der Absicht, diese weiterzuverkaufen vor Gericht. Am 5. Juli trat in
dem Prozeß unter anderen auch der Starzeuge Hulk Hogan in Uniondale,
N.Y. auf. Ende Juli 1994 wurde McMahon nach 16stündiger Beratung der
Jury aber von allen Anklagen freigesprochen. Durch diesen Prozeß
wurde trotz des Freispruchs das Ansehen der WWF weiter getrübt, denn
welcher TV Sender berichtet schon darüber, wenn eine skandalträchtige
Klage abgewiesen wird, nachdem sie von ihm hochgepusht wurde?
